For the past few years, we have witnessed the upcoming developments of many hotels and apartments, especially throughout Colombo. These developments are only increasing exponentially for the next few years to come. A few examples of top hotel chains that are coming to Sri Lanka are the Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton, ITC Colombo One and many more.

The most recent hotel that opened is Marino Beach on the 30th of July 2018, which extends from Galle Road to Marine Drive. Marino Sands is a twelve-storey building which consists of 300 luxurious rooms. Damro groups have invested a staggering amount of Rs.12.5 Billion on this project where construction began in June 2013.

What you can expect

Marino Mall

The wow factor about the hotel is the rooftop infinity pool which is the largest in Sri Lanka. From the rooftop, you have a bird’s eye view of both the Colombo City and the Indian Ocean. Moreover, they have brought a 9D Cinema experience to Sri Lanka for the very first time.

Virtual reality has become an ongoing trend that has fascinated all of us. Marino Mall has a separate virtual reality centre and an indoor amusement park. This would provide the younger community with a new meaning to entertainment. Marino Mall has been spot on in providing a whole new experience to Colombo that has been lacking for years, which will eventually lead to its success.

The mall itself would prove to be very successful in Colombo as there are very few shopping malls such as Majestic City and Liberty Plaza, which has been there for more than a decade. There would also be more dining options which include restaurants offering various cuisines. Shopping Malls are very profitable overseas. It is not only a place for everyone to shop at but also a place to spend their time, which is something that we lack in Colombo.

Upcoming Infrastructures in Colombo

Marino Beach and Marino Mall are the first of its kind and there would be more infrastructures as such in the future. These would include the much anticipated Colombo City Centre, Cinnamon Life Colombo, ODEL Mall and the prestigious Port City.

Such infrastructures are improving the living standards and tourism of Colombo. We are making great strides regarding development, where Sri Lanka will be on par with other developed countries.
